About
I began mural work shortly after completing a degree in fine arts from the University of Houston and gaining some illustration (and snowboarding) experience at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design.
Mural painting has been a great fit for me. It has brought together my experience with commercial and residential painting, decorative wall finishing, and my training as a fine artist into an enjoyable career. Each project brings its own set of creative challenges and logistical planning that is never the same, so I'm always pushed to learn new methods or try different styles. It has been and continues to be one of the most rewarding types of work I do. The aspect I love most about mural painting is that the artworks are out in the world to be seen and enjoyed.
Aside from mural painting, I try to maintain my studio practice which in recent years has involved cropping and editing photographs I take in railyards and other urban areas into photorealistic paintings. I've always had an interest in the infrastructure that keeps a city humming along. I take commissions for a wide range of imagery as well.
I’ve had amazing responses over the years for my work. I take a lot of pride in it and always want the next project to be my best. Whether painting characters for a pre-school or rendering a complex sign for a business, each project gets the same level of thoughtful attention to detail and quality.
